Mark Edward Brooks is originally from St. Louis, MO and now resides in San Marcos, Texas. He has two novels out, Basement Things, a horror novel and the short story collection Through a Darker Eye. He loves reading, writing, and all outdoor activities and is looking forward to Halloween.

My favorite color is black—the darkness of it.
2. What Southern state and/or city do you like best, and why?
Texas—it is rich with strange and wondrous history.
3. What do you like most about Southern Gothic?
Southern gothic is just amazing because of the culture.
