1971 David Bowie
In honor of the passing of the iconic David Bowie, Nosetouch Press wanted to walk through some of the various looks of Bowie throughout the 1970s…
Bowie’s willful androgyny was played up even in his comparatively tame long-haired phase. His long locks both played with the by-then-standard Hippie aesthetic but with a particularly Bohemian kind of vibe. I think Bowie likely realized that the way to stand out wasn’t to have long hair and wear dresses, but to cut his hair and double-down on the glam.
